The Social Welfare Department of Karnataka is taking a bold step towards transparency, accountability, and social audit by ensuring meal quality in 821 KREIS schools and 2,005 Social Welfare Department hostels is closely monitored. This initiative enhances public trust and provides real-time insights into student nutrition, ensuring that meals served in residential schools and hostels meet the highest standards of quality and hygiene.

The Social Welfare Department of Karnataka is making a significant move towards transparency, accountability, and social audit by closely monitoring meal quality in its residential schools and hostels. Initially piloted in Bidar, Chamarajanagar, and Raichur, the initiative has now been extended to all 31 districts, covering 2,826 hostels and schools. Schools and hostels share daily photos of breakfast, lunch, and dinner on their official X (Twitter) accounts, ensuring real-time updates. This dedicated web page centralizes these updates, making it easy for parents, stakeholders, and officials to track meal quality statewide. This initiative strengthens public trust and provides real-time insights into student nutrition.
